A Few More Weeks of Winter

Happy Monday, babes! I hope you guys had a good weekend. I stayed super busy, but had so much fun! On Thursday I actually did a “staycation” with three of my favorite Houston bloggers at a brand new hotel in town. The hotel is absolutely STUNNING (stay tuned for my review on Friday’s blog post) and I had so much fun with the girls. Then on Friday night I went to one of my good friend Cadi’s clothing party for her new boutique, Rainey Street Boutique. They have the cutest stuff and it’s so reasonably priced, so you guys should definitely check it out! Then on Saturday we went to Rodeo Cookoff for the first time and had a freakin’ blast! If you aren’t from Houston, you might be confused that we go to the rodeo, but it is truly the highlight of the year! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a HUGE party. There’s a carnival with amusement rides, a wine garden, livestock animals, great food and the most amazing concerts! It runs for 2 or 3 weeks and there is a new performer every night. It is definitely worth coming in town for!

Anyways, as much as we’d hate to admit it, we still have a few weeks left of winter. I can’t wait for it to warm up a bit, but until it does I’ve been trying to transition into spring the best I can with cooler weather. A great way to do that is with a sweater dress and over-the-knee boots. This dress is very lightweight so you won’t get too hot, but the material is thick enough that it isn’t see-thru at all! It’s one of those dresses that is super easy to throw on when you want to look cute but don’t really want to have to try. I always find myself reaching for it when I’m heading to church or dinner or even a quick trip to the mall! Might as well embrace these last few weeks of cooler weather before it gets blistering hot in Houston. But who am I kidding… I love the heat!
