- Big Bag – absolutely love this Sole Society bag! It was perfect for traveling because it could store so many things, and will also be a great beach bag this summer
- Passport (and cover) – If you are traveling internationally, don’t forget your passport! (And make sure to check that it isn’t expired – cough cough Jensen). I always like to doll it up with a cute passport cover.
- iPad or Kindle (and cover) – My in-laws got me this iPad mini for Christmas and I take it with me everywhere. It’s small enough to throw in a purse, and perfect for travel. I make my hubby update it with music before every trip, and I also keep all my books and audible’s on here.
- Phone charger – most international flights offer power outlets between the seats to make it easy to charge devices during your flight
- Beats headphones – not only are these noise-canceling, but they’re white and rose-gold. What more could you ask for?!
- Eye mask – crucial for red eye flights to block out lights
- Portable charger – just in case they don’t offer power outlets, it’s always good to have a portable charger on hand
- Sephora sleeping mask – an all-time favorite of mine!
- Sephora Coconut water lip balm – amazingly soothing and smells so good
- Coconut primer – this is awesome because it works as both as moisturizer and primer, & truly smells amazing!
- Caffeine Matcha Wake Up Wipes – guys, these are AMAZING. You know when you wake up in the morning and feel like it’s impossible to keep your eyes open? Try these. It’s basically like throwing a cup of coffee on your face. I did not expect to like these so much, but they will now be my go-to every morning when I wake up. These were amazing to have in my carry on after a long flight.
- Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream – oh. my. heaven. This stuff is INCREDIBLE. I made a Sephora haul before my trip, and I was searching for a good moisturizer since it’s so dry on airplanes. The lady introduced me to this and the second I put it on my hand I knew it would be a new favorite product. Guys, it feels like you are rubbing silk on your face. And the best part is a little goes a long way, so it’s definitely worth the money.
- Peter Thomas Roth Face serum – I also picked this up on my Sephora haul. Once I saw the Cloud Cream, I tried this and it too was incredible. Here’s my routine: first I’ll use the Caffeine Matcha Wake Up Wipes, then I’ll use a dime-size squirt of the serum and then finish off with the Cloud Cream. I swear by this – it will completely change the way your skin looks and feels. A little goes a long way with this product too, so you can use the same bottle for months.
- Laptop – never ever ever put your laptop in your checked bag! It also comes in handy if you want to get some work done on the plane
- Snacks – probably the most important thing (behind your passport/driver’s license), especially for me. I always like to pack some KIND bars, dried fruit, granola or anything else that doesn’t need to be kept cold. Preparing ahead also makes it a little easier to make healthy choices instead of stocking up on all the candy bars and chips at the airport.
- Scarf/Jacket/Blanket – there is absolutely nothing worse than being cold on an airplane! There have been times where I have been so cold I honestly thought I had hypothermia. Make sure to bring either a scarf, jacket or blanket to bundle up with.
- Lotion – like I said before, airplanes are extremely dry since it’s recycled air, so make sure to bring a small bottle of lotion (under 3 oz) to apply to your hands or wherever else during the flight.
- Jewelry – I always carry my valuable jewelry with me just in case something happens to my bag.
- Camera – I also always pack my camera in my carry-on bag just in case my checked bag gets lost or stolen. I also don’t particularly want my camera thrown around like they tend to do with checked bags.
- Medicine – it’s always important to carry any important medicine in your carry-on bag in case your bag gets lost. I’ll also sometimes bring Benadryl or Z-Quill to help me fall asleep if I’m taking a red eye.
- Books/magazines – to keep you entertained
- Toothbrush/toothpaste – after a long flight (and hopefully a nap), you will definitely want to freshen up before landing. You don’t want to have morning breath and scare away the person next to you
- Socks – If you aren’t wearing tennis shoes, I would suggest bringing socks to keep your feet warm.
- Money – make sure if you’re traveling to another country that you get the correct currency BEFORE you get there. You may think you don’t need any because you have a credit card, but you would be surprised the places that only accept cash (believe me – I learned the hard way). There are currency exchange desks in every airport, so just go before you jump on the plane.
- International socket – this is also super important not to forget! You don’t nessisarily need to keep this in your carry-on, but I just wanted to make sure I didn’t forget to mention it. If you don’t travel internationally very often, you may forget that other countries have different sockets than the U.S. So if you forget to bring one, you won’t be able to charge any of your devices or use anything that requires electricity (aka your curling iron, hair dryer, etc.). I got this awesome one at Target which has a different adaptor for each country throughout the world. I highly recommend it because you’ll be able to use it over and over no matter where you are in the world!
