Hi friends, happy Friday! By now y’all know how much I love to travel. It’s so fun to get out of the house, explore new cities and cuddle up in a big, fluffy hotel bed with some breakfast in bed. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and it’s not always easy to leave town. But guess what? You don’t have to! It’s time for a Staycation!
A few weeks ago, some of my sweet friends (Hailey and Kailey from Double Shot of Sass and Tay from Tayler Malott) and I decided to do a little one-night Staycation at Hotel Alessandra. This is a new high-end hotel in Downtown Houston that just opened last October and already has the most amazing reviews. Since I live in the Woodlands, it takes me over an hour to get downtown, so this was the perfect little getaway!
As you enter on the ground level you walk into the most gorgeous marble stair case that guides you to the lobby. The second level of the hotel has a huge open concept layout with a gorgeous bar that offers luxurious ambiance and a perfect place for an afternoon cocktail. I was absolutely blown away with the décor of this hotel. They have such a minimalist approach to décor and design that plays with height and natural light. Everywhere you look you see white marble with gold accents – an absolute dream of modern luxury!
The staff was top-of-the-line and extremely sweet and accommodating. They gave us a tour of the hotel, including the penthouse suite which was INCREDIBLE. If you look closely at the walls in the hallway, you’ll see the wallpaper is customized and has “A”‘s hidden in the design. The attention to detail is apparent everywhere you look. Our room was so gorgeous. Very clean with crisp white colors (just how I like it), gold accents and a hint of royal green.
After settling into our rooms, we headed to lunch at a new restaurant we’ve all been dying to try, called Emmaline. It was absolutely gorgeous inside and had such a quaint, European feel. We ordered our cocktails (duh) and then started with their cheese fondue which was so good. I got the asparagus and prosciutto as my meal and it was delicious! Next time I think I’ll try the burrata and a pizza – they both looked divine!
After lunch we headed back to the hotel to explore a little more and see everything the hotel had to offer. We were so impressed by the amazing rooftop pool. Just imagine laying out by the pool with your significant other or girlfriends enjoying a cocktail overlooking the city’s skyline – yes please! We also checked out their fantastic gym and luxurious spa.

That evening we got ready and went to have a pre-dinner cocktail at their stunning bar. Then we went to dinner at Lucienne, a sophisticated dining experience located in the hotel. It features a contemporary continental cuisine with a focus on Mediterranean inspiration. We enjoyed the tasting menu where we had a chance to sample a lot of different options the restaurant had to offer.

After dinner we headed back up to the room to put on our pj’s, open a bottle of wine and just enjoyed having a girls night. I truly could not recommend this hotel anymore if I tried. I can’t wait to bring my hubby back for a romantic staycation in the future.
