Hello Monday… we meet again. Most people hate Mondays because the fun of the weekend is over and it’s back to work. But maybe we just need to change our mindset? Why don’t we start looking at Mondays as a blessing and a new opportunity to achieve things we haven’t yet been able to achieve? The way we spend our Mondays can seriously impact the remainder of the week – everything from your mindset to your eating habits to your productivity. So why not set yourself up for success to have the best week possible? Here are a few things I’ve incorporated into my life where I’ve really been able to see a difference.
Start With a Clean House – I’m not sure about you guys, but clutter is a complete distraction for me. Usually at some point on Sunday, I’ll tidy up the house and make sure everything is put away in it’s place. Whenever I start my week off with a clean house, it’s like I’ve created the right setting to set up the rest of the week. This completely declutters my mind and helps me stay on task and be more productive throughout the day.
Plan Your Week Out – Sometimes I tend to over plan and make way too many to-do lists. But I’ve learned over the past year the importance of prioritizing. I’ll start off making several lists. One for work, one for home, one for personal. I’ll list absolutely everything that comes to mind that I need to accomplish that week. Once I have my huge long lists, I’ll prioritize and break it down day-by-day. Start with the most important things. These aren’t always the easy things, or the things you want to do. But if you get them over with in the beginning, you are less likely to put them off procrastinating. Also, be realistic here. Don’t put 30 things on your Monday list, because we all know that probably isn’t going to happen.
Make Exercise a Priority – Exercise is SO important to maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle. In the words of Elle Woods, “exercise gives you endorphins; endorphins make you happy!”. But in all seriousness, plan out at least 30 minutes 3-4 times a week and do some kind of physical activity whether that’s going to the gym or just going on a long walk around the neighborhood. If you’re finding a hard time doing this, plan it out just like you would a meeting or appointment! You will notice that exercising can clear your head, relieve stress, and give you an extra boost of energy.
Have Groceries in the Fridge – This is a big one for me. If you know me, you know my fridge is always stocked. Every Sunday or Monday I make it a priority to go to the grocery store and stock up on fresh produce and weekly essentials. I’ll plan out whatever meals I plan on cooking at home and make sure I have the correct ingredients. Having healthy choices in the house will help keep you on track and less likely to stop at Chick-fil-a on the way home (except for Saturdays when it’s a MUST in the Crum house).
Pay it Forward with Kindness – Remember that everyone around you probably hates Mondays just as much as you do, so make an effort to brighten someones day. Whether that be complimenting a random stranger, buying the persons coffee behind you in line or leaving an uplifting note on a coworkers desk – whatever it takes to show someone a little bit of Jesus.
Today I had some fun mixing a bunch of different prints to pull this outfit together. I got nervous thinking, “does this match?” but then I remembered fashion is supposed to be fun! There’s no rule book. This tote by Barrington has been my go-to lately! It’s the perfect size to carry my laptop, planner, notebook, sunglasses, make up bag, wallet and anything else I need! I love how you can customize absolutely every aspect of the bag from the print, monogram and even the color of the leather trim. Looks kind of like a personalized Louis in my opinion 😉 What do y’all think?! Happy Monday!
