As most of y’all know, we just got home from an amazing two weeks in Cabo San Lucas! Our family has been visiting Cabo for seven years now, and we always stay at Pueblo Bonito. It has truly become our home away from home! In Spanish the phrase Pueblo Bonito means “beautiful town”, and that’s exactly what it is! A beautiful little resort town, tucked away in the cliffs of gorgeous Cabo San Lucas. I’m so excited to share with you all a little bit more about Pueblo Bonito today!
Where to Stay:
Within the resort there are multiple places to stay… giving you the freedom to choose whatever accommodation best fits your needs!
~ Montecristo Estates: Montecristo Estates is where I spent the first half of my trip with my husband’s family. These estates are completely private! Each villa features a private infinity pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, maid and butler service, a full kitchen, laundry room, living room up and downstairs, and 3 separate bedrooms. The master bedroom upstairs looks out over the Pacific Ocean, and comes with a huge master bath with both a jacuzzi and shower, and a large closet. Downstairs you will find one bedroom with a king bed and their own private bath, and another room with two double beds and their own private bath as well. The house could comfortably fit 8 people, and we also had my 6 month old niece there and it was very baby friendly! If you are looking for a fun place to stay with the whole family, but are still seeking some privacy… this is your best choice! This would also be a great option for a bachelorette/bachelor party because you have your own space and can all be together!
~ Pacifica: During the second half of my trip, my husband and I moved to Pacifica. Pacifica is the newest, adults only resort that sits along the ocean line of the Pueblo Bonito property. If you are looking for an unforgettable honeymoon spot, or a place you can get away with your significant other, I highly recommend staying at Pacifica! It is one of the most breathtaking resorts I’ve ever been to, and I understand why it’s widely considered to be the world’s most romantic resort. Pacifica is perfect This luxury, all-inclusive property is perfect for those seeking a tranquil, oceanfront hideaway just steps from the sand and minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas. We actually stayed in the Towers at Pacifica, and it was truly incredible. The rooms were unbelievably stunning, equipped with modern decor, our own private plunge pool and access to the VIP lounge where we could get unlimited food and drinks (only available for those guests staying in the Towers).
~ Sunset Beach: Sunset Beach is another great family option, or for those of you who are wanting a more “lively” vibe. This resort is a family-friendly, all-inclusive luxury resort blissfully secluded on a private coastal bluff. This prime location offers both tranquility and convenient access to the vibrant downtown corridor of Cabo San Lucas. I have never personally stayed here, but we went down to the main pool several times and had a blast! You can enjoy unlimited access to their private beach, stunning swimming pools, state-of-the-art fitness center, and so much more!

Where to Eat:
Pueblo Bonito gives you the option to do their all-inclusive meal plan during your stay there, which I highly recommend! This gives you the freedom to eat at their many restaurants without having to worry about the price tag of each item. I know people tend to be skeptical of all-inclusive resorts (I do too) but this was seriously the best all-inclusive food I’ve EVER had. My whole family kept raving on and on about how good the food was.
~ The Market: One of our favorite places to eat during our stay was at The Market which is located right at the center of the resort. We were able to walk there from our Montecristo Estate each day. The Market has a wide variety of food options to choose from: a traditional Mexican food shop, a classic 50’s diner, a sweet shop, a creperie, and even a smoothie shop. The wide range of options made it easy for everyone in the family to get something they liked! My husband and I also try to eat relatively healthy when we travel, and we were very pleased to see they even had a new restaurant called “Perfect Balance” where we could get fresh juice, acai bowls, smoothies, avocado toast and so much more! The Market is very family friendly, so my sister in law had no issue bringing her baby there each day!
~ Quivira: Another fun place to eat with a GORGEOUS view is the restaurant located at Quivira Golf Club. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and its’ views span the gorgeous beach and Pacific Ocean. We had breakfast there and also went for drinks one night. The vibe was very chill and relaxed.
~ Pescados: This was probably my favorite restaurant of the trip! Pescados is a small, casually elegant sushi restaurant located in Pacifica. Since it’s a smaller restaurant, you can tell the chef puts so much time and effort into everything he prepares. We had some of the best sushi and signature dishes I’ve ever had in my life, all made with fresh seafood. If you go, definitely try the “Wonton Tuna Spicy” appetizer – oh my goodness, Clayton and I could have eaten about 20 orders of those! So freaking good.
There are tons of other restaurants available that I didn’t share (I tried to stick to my very favorites so I didn’t bore y’all) and a variety of options for everyone in your party! I was there for two full weeks, and can honestly say I loved every place we ate at!
What to do:
~ Armonia Spa: One of my FAVORITE days at Pueblo Bonito was our spa day at Armonia Spa. Honestly, I’m not much of a spa person, and I don’t always love getting massages. But I’m not kidding when I say this possibly was the best massage I have ever gotten… and my sister in law and mother-in-love said the same! The spa is serene, relaxing, and everything you need to step away from your busy schedule and give yourself some me time! If we could have spent the entire day there we would have! (Well.. actually.. you could spend the whole day there if you wanted!! But with the baby back at our estate our time was limited!)
~ Pools: Another great thing about the size of Pueblo Bonito is access to their many pools. There are pools located all throughout the property, and while staying there you can go to any of them! Our favorites were the pool at Pacifica and the Sky Pool at the very top of the resort (you can imagine those gorgeous views!). We loved having our own private pool at our estate as well, and this is where we spent most of our time.
~ Golf: The golf course is one of Pueblo Bonito’s newest additions, and I would say the boys would all agree that golfing was their favorite part of the trip! I’m obviously not a golfer, but my brother-in-law would describe the course as the top course he’s ever played. They raved on and on about the views while golfing, and also the experience out on the course. They told us there are multiple “huts” that you can stop at for drinks and food. They were placed strategically throughout the course so that you could see the beautiful view! If they could have golfed every day, they probably would have 😉
~ Fitness Center: Like I said before, Clayton and I try really hard to stay active and in a good routine while on vacation. Even though it’s nice to take a break sometimes, getting too off track can easily set you back for weeks. So we were very excited that Pueblo Bonito has several incredible gyms (one at each resort)! We mostly used the Montecristo gym since it was a bit more secluded and not as crowded (only guests staying in the Montecristo Villas are allowed to use this gym). But we also went to work out at the Sunset gym one day, which was much larger and available for all guests. Pacifica also had an incredible gym, full of all the equipment you could ever dream of (and treadmills overlooking the ocean – YES PLEASE!) and SO clean.
Transportation:
Pueblo Bonito is located about 45 minutes from the Cabo airport. We set up a private car directly from the hotel and it was so easy! We went exactly where they told us to go, and they were waiting there with our name on a sign. They also offer shuttles, but in my opinion, it was nice to just be able to go directly to our hotel and not have to worry about stopping at any other resorts along the way. I felt extremely safe and knew I had nothing to worry about.
While you are at the resort, there are several ways to get around. Pueblo Bonito offers complimentary shuttles and carts that will take you anywhere you’d like to go! It’s super convenient and so nice that it’s free (I do recommend tipping though, because these people work so hard for their families and have the BEST customer service!). The resort is also very walkable for the most part! We like to stay active on vacation, so we didn’t mind walking up to the Market or the pool – especially because the views are incredible! We also rented a golf cart which was super convenient (especially because we had a baby with us)! If that is something you are interested in, they will happily help set that up at the front desk.
Other Things to Note:
- In case you missed my Instagram stories, the waves in Cabo are INTENSE. They get well over 25 feet tall, and the under-toe is so crazy that they actually don’t let you in the water at all. So if that is a deal breaker for you, this resort might not be the best option. But you are still allowed on the beach (they even have Cabanas you can rent – which we did one day, and it was AMAZING!) and the sound of the waves crashing is so peaceful. I just wanted to throw that out there in advance so there aren’t any surprises if you’re looking to book a vacation!
- If you can’t tell from all my pictures, Pueblo Bonito is pure Instagram heaven! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and full of cacti, flowers and palm trees. I was in constant awe of how absolutely breathtaking everything was! You can tell they work extremely hard to have such a beautiful, clean resort and I was thankful for the “picture perfect” backdrops I got everywhere on the property.
- Last but not least, I have to touch on the incredible service we received over our two week stay. My college degree is in Hotel & Restaurant Management, so I feel like I have a very good understanding of the hotel industry. With that being said, I will say that Pueblo Bonito truly does go above and beyond for their guests. Everywhere we went we received top-notch service. Whether it was a waiter, housekeeper, shuttle driver, front-desk receptionist or cabana boy, each employee made us feel like we were the only people at the resort. It really is more than just a place to stay, but an experience that you will remember for your entire life.
Overall, I could not recommend Pueblo Bonito enough to y’all. Obviously since our family has been coming back for the past seven years, we truly love it here and it really has become a home away from home. I really feel like it has something for everyone… whether you’re wanting a quite place to escape and relax or a fun, family-filled pool, Pueblo Bonito has it all! I’m counting down the days until I can return again…
