Look Back on Our Wedding
















First off, whether you’ve been following me since before my engagement or this is the very post you’re reading, I’m so glad you’re here! This past week Clayton and I shared our our third wedding anniversary. Seven years together, but three years being married as one. I thought it would be special to embrace the moment and share a special look back on our wedding. I actually can’t even believe this is the first time I’m sharing these pictures on my blog!










Just to give you a little background, Clayton and I started dating in the summer of 2011. Because he was playing baseball, our love story took us across the country doing long distance from Lubbock to Oregon, West Virginia, Florida, Kentucky and more. Clayton has an incredible way of always making me feel so loved, even from thousands of miles away.






I truly wish I could relive our wedding day over again whenever I wanted. Clayton and I got married right after we both turned 23, and there was something so special about being the first one of my friends to get married. None of us had any idea what we were doing, but everyone was so excited and happy for us. We had a pretty big wedding, with 13 bridesmaids and family & friends traveling from all over the country. My girls were absolutely incredible and I would have never felt so special without them. I also adore every one of Clayton’s groomsmen and am so thankful for the loyal friends he has in his life. God really did know what He was doing by sending us each one of our friends.

















A few things that made our wedding special to us:

– Our wedding venue is actually located two minutes down the road from the childhood house I grew up in (where my momma still lives).
– Clayton’s dad was his best man and his sister, Katherine, was my maid of honor.
– At the beginning of our ceremony, both of our parents came up and joined us in a circle to privately pray with us.
– Katherine and her soon-to-be-hubby, Cory, performed a beautiful song for us during our ceremony.
– Our pastor, Kevin Harlan, is my father-in-law’s best friend and has known Clayton his entire life. He has watched us grow over the years as a couple and was able to make our ceremony so personal and special for us.
– My baby sister, Kaitlyn, was our flower girl. My other two sisters, Katie and Vivi, were also bridesmaids.
– Clayton and I were extremely emotional the entire day because we were so overwhelmed that we were lucky enough to get to marry each other. I have never felt so thankful in my entire life as when I got to vow to spend forever with him.







I absolutely adore every single one of our vendors. They brought all my visions to life and made our wedding so incredibly perfect for us. I love that I can look back on the memories from our amazing photographer and videographers and relive these unforgettable moments. I still can’t watch our wedding video (shown below) without crying, even though I’ve seen it a million times. I also want to give a big thank you to my parents and in-laws for everything you did to make this day come to life! It wouldn’t have been what it was without you guys.

Clayton, three years ago I made a promise to encourage you, respect you, pursue you, laugh with you, lead with you and pray for you. I promised to show you patience and compassion, even when times get tough. I promised to be passionate – passionately fight with you and passionately love you. To put YOUR happiness before my own. Although I’ve failed you a million times, I will never give up on those promises. Those are the vows I made in the presence of God and our family and friends. You know me inside and out, the good and the bad and yet you still love me unconditionally. You forgive me before I even have the chance to ask for forgiveness. Marriage hasn’t been easy, because we are both sinners, but it has (and always will be) worth it. I’m so grateful the Lord gave me you. Happy anniversary my love! I can’t wait to spend forever with you.
