Happy New Years, friends! I can’t believe this is my first post of 2018. I decided to take some time off from work for the past few weeks to be with family and friends and just rest. We very rarely allow our brains to take off, especially when you’re your own boss, but it was much needed. I’m coming back feeling recharged and ready to make this coming year the best one yet.
We just got back from Paris and I can’t wait to share my recommendations with you guys later this week. I’ll do a full blog post with where we stayed, what we did and my favorite restaurants, along with my first ever VLOG (thanks hubby!).
If I had to choose an every day “uniform” it would be this outfit. I am loving the winter white (whoever said you can’t wear white in the winter obviously didn’t look good in white 😉 ) paired with all neutrals. It’s so easy to throw on some white jeans, OTK boots and a sweater and look put together, but still be comfy. Speaking of white jeans – can we talk about them for a minute? If you ignore every piece of advice I ever give you, please listen to this one. A good pair of white jeans are well worth the investment. Believe me, I tried to go the cheaper route and buy white jeans under $100 and would always end up donating them because they either faded, stretched out or stained easily. I ended up spending 5x more on inexpensive jeans rather than just splurging once and being able to wear them over and over. These are amazing because they are comfy, super skinny and extremely white. If you invest in a good pair now, you won’t regret it come spring and summer when you’ll be wearing them all the time.
Now let’s talk about this cape. Y’all know how much I love Draper James from my Instagram Stories and visiting frequently when I’m in Nashville or Dallas. (And the fact that it’s owned by Reese Witherspoon just makes me love it ten times more because she’s my spirit animal.) When I saw this cape I fell in love because it’s perfect for Houston weather! I love that it’s half sleeve, so you can throw it over a sweater and be comfortable when it’s cool outside. I actually rolled my sweater up in these pictures so you could really get the full effect of the cape – it’s absolutely gorgeous and the quality is top-notch (along with everything Reese makes). If you’re ever in Dallas, Nashville, Lexington or Atlanta, I highly recommend stopping in Draper James. They’ll greet you with a sweet tea and you’ll instantly feel the southern charm. I’ll also link a few of my other favorite capes below!
I have a lot of exciting things planned to share with you guys in 2018 and am eager to hit the ground running with full force this year. Please let me know in the comments below if there’s anything specific you’d like to see. I have a lot of beauty requests for hair/makeup tutorials so I’ll make sure to get that content to you guys soon 🙂
