SHOP MY WATERMELON SHIRT LOOK:
Purse: Louis Vuitton // Pearl Jewelry: Seaside Pearls
How fun is this watermelon shirt guys?! And the best part is that it’s under $10!!
I mean, come on. I get a TON of questions about this website and to be honest, I was a little skeptical at first. But I’ve probably placed 5-6 different orders now and I have come to the conclusion, I am a fan! I’m pretty sure this stuff comes directly from China (which is why it’s so cheap) but let’s say I order 10 things (and probably spend less than $100!), I would say at least 6/10 of those things are a win. So for the 4 that don’t work (because they either don’t fit or I’m not satisfied with the quality), I just have to take my loss and bless someone at Goodwill.
I love this fun little watermelon shirt for summer.
You can pair it with denim shorts like I did, throw it over a bathing suit, or pair it with a skirt and some wedges to dress it up a little. Throw some Seaside Pearls with your outfit (or any outfit for that matter – I’m obsessed!) and you’re ready for any summer gathering!
Okay, moving on from the clothes. I titled this blog post “You’re One in a Melon” and I’m going to be super corny for a second and use a play on words to talk about something that’s been on my heart a lot lately. I have girls message me all the time saying things like, “how are you so perfect?” or “you have such a perfect life”. Now I’m not telling you guys this to sound cool at all, because honestly, as sweet as those comments are, they break my heart. Social media can be used in so many positive ways, but it also can be detrimental to women. We sit there comparing ourselves to these girls we see on Instagram and wonder why we don’t look as “perfect” as they do. Well, let me be the first to say, I am not perfect, nor do I have a perfect life. I actually laugh because I am so far from perfect. I wake up with bad breath just like every other human being. I have days where I’m cranky and moody and probably drive my husband crazy. I get stressed out very easy and run away from a lot of my problems instead of dealing with them head on. The truth is, I am comprised of many different flaws, but I choose to embrace those flaws because I know my self worth. “You’re One in a Melon” (if you didn’t catch that – “You’re one in a million”). I wish I could sit down with every girl who’s ever messaged me and tell them all the beautiful things about them that makes them unique. You want to know what I think is probably the most fascinating thing in the entire world? We are ALL different. We are ALL unique in our own little ways. No one in this world has the exact same hair, eyes, body style, personality or heart that YOU do. I want to encourage each girl reading this that in a world filled with comparison, BE YOU. Embrace all the “flaws” you think you have and realize just how special you are. I probably sound so incredibly corny right now, but I don’t think enough girls get to hear this. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE SMART. YOU ARE WORTHY. You deserve just as much as every other girl you see does. Be confident, be different, BE YOU.
I challenge each person who reads this to leave a comment with ONE thing you love about yourself. I am going to pick one person at the end of the week and send them a surprise Seaside Pearls bracelet. As always, thank you for taking the time to read and support my blog. I appreciate it more than you know!

Why does this blog post make me wanna cry???!? Probably because you’re just such a beautiful human and I’m so thankful to know you and be blessed by you and your soul!!!!! I just love you. Thank you for being such an incredible example and for sharing this super powerful and important message! ?
One thing I like about myself is my ability to ball on a budget. I like saving money and am pretty good at being thrifty. Why is it so hard for women to admit things they like about themselves?! Like that was painful.?? hahaha LOVE YOU! Love watching you do your thing with this and doing it so well ?
Megan says
Yes love this post you cutie cute you! And I am right there with you about SheIn. Love you and miss you!!!

The one thing I’ve always strived for is to keep a positive mindset and to just keep going. I’m in the modeling career and there are times I get weak, less confident and times when I just want to give up. I’ve always held my head up high and pushed myself harder than the time before! It just makes you strive for the best and until you have accomplished what you were going towards from the start! 🙂 There’s no limit unless you make one!

Thank you jessica for addressing one of the pitfalls of social media, I too am guilty of looking at your profile or others and think “wow she looks so perfect she must have perfect life” but we are all humans and we have our own set of problems and flaws. Thank you for the transparency and yes I ABSOLUELY LOVE your uplifting attitude towards other women! We should help build each other up! Xo

Wow this was perfect and it really hit home! Okay this may sound really corny and weird but I love my small boobs? I used to get made fun of it so much growing up (and I still do) and I used to beat myself up thinking it made me less of a woman, but now I embrace it! It makes working out easier, I have more shirt options, and I don’t feel ashamed of my body anymore!?

I love this blog post. I don’t know you, but I feel like I do. You are such a sweet human and I’m loving this blog.
I’m loving my confidence. Over the past three years I’ve lost a total of 150 pounds. And even though that is amazing accomplishment I would look in the mirror and still see the old me. It’s has been a struggle to keep pushing my self everyday to make improvements on my health. But I can proudly say I’ve learned to love myself and I now know I’m worth it.

The thing I love most about myself is not something I was born with but something I’ve developed over the years. I love my growing sense of determination to push myself, to encourage others, and to be the best sister/daughter/student/friend that I can be. Matthew 17:20 has encouraged me every morning, “For sure, I tell you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to over there,’ and it would move over. You will be able to do anything.”

Thank you for saying what I exactly was thinking about today! It’s so easy to start comparing yourself. And for some reason we always end up breaking ourselves down in the process, guilty as charged.
Honestly for me to go down the list and think of something I love about myself “physically” it’s hard and I’ve probably spent way to much time ?. But if I had to choose, my eyes. When I was a kid I was super tiny but always had big brown eyes and times I would get made fun of. Even though people would try and bring me down I’ve always liked them. Now that I’ve grown into them I get compliments. Personality wise, I love lifting people up!
Thank you for lifting up women!
Lauren says
I love that I am friends with people of all different ages and that we can learn from each others’ life experiences. Life is a lot more fun when your friends are not the exact same as you!

One thing i love about myself is my passion, my passion in for the lord, my family and friends, also my career. In life you should love what you do and ensure you do it to the best of your ability. I admire you greatly for this post you are very true no one is perfect and if more girls put this message on their social media it would be a much better place. As young women we should support and encourage each other, your friends, peers, work colleagues, family, neighbours and complete strangers. Well done for giving people self belief and confident jess xoxo
Sydney Kuzniarek says
I have a large birthmark on my face between my nose & top lip. For years as a young girl in middle school and into high school I was embarrassed by it and went through numbers of different concealers to cover it up and even researched removing it. Towards the middle of high school I had a group of people around me who cherished me for that difference and I started to cherish myself as God made me. Perfectly imperfect.
I really appreciate this post and it makes me proud to know there are women out there like you who strive to pull the best out of everyone around them.. even complete strangers!
Corbin Blomberg says
LOVED this post! Thank you for always bringing more smiles to the world and giving confidence to each person. You are a blessing to many.
I love my heart for Jesus. Of course each day we all strive to be the best “me” we can be… but as life has it’s ups and downs I found that constantly having a heart for Jesus truly makes each hardship a little easier, and the greatest day even better.
Vivian Solgere says
i love my family (especially my oldest sister?)
Chelsea says
I particularly loved this post because I am one to criticize myself the hardest on everything but if I had to choose one thing that I love about myself is how I am turn someone’s day around with my smile or my laugh. People always say how happy and smiley I always am even if I’m not in that type of mood. If I can make someone’s day that usually makes my day a lot better. Hope all you pretty ladies have a great day!!
Daetin Watts says

Something I love about myself is that I remain a positive person in a not-always positive world . I had a lot of hardships in my life like losing my dad at a young age to cancer, and I had a lot of reasons to be negative but I kept going and from this I feel like I can take on anything the world throws at me and get through it.
Hollin Jordan says
I love my drive to eat healthy and workout. I think nutrition should be an important role in everyone’s life!
Emily Barrett says
Ok, AWESOME post. As a girl in 2017, it’s hard to set aside insecurities, and love yourself. When I started college, my relationship with Jesus grew and I developed a new understanding of myself. I started loving myself and loving other people. My favorite thing about myself recently has been the way Jesus has changed my heart to love myself and love people well. It’s taught me more about God’s love for each and every one of us, and that’s something worth loving!!!!
